The third part of German/English picture dictionary series

The Hendeleins picture dictionary series: What do you see and hear? … at the table

Most people probably associate dull hours of memorizing vocabulary cards when thinking of learning vocabulary. The young publishing house Riedel e.K. situated in Waltrop, Germany, has published a series of German/English picture dictionaries for children that truly make learning vocabulary child’s play.

It is not only the wonderful illustrations that make these children’s dictionaries special, but the fact that the vocabulary is presented in the context of interesting children’s stories. When the lovable ‚Hendeleins‘, a group of animals such as Ducki, the duck, the hedgehog Heddi and their friends go on their exciting adventures, the corresponding vocabulary can be easily learned.

Three parts of the picture dictionary series ‚ What do you see and hear?‘ are already available. In the first part titled ‚In the outdoors‘, the Hendeleins explore the forest; the second part ‚At home‘ finds them back at home telling their friends about their adventure, and finally the day ends in the third part ‚At the table‘ with a cheerful meal and many plans for the next day.

In contrast to other dictionaries, the ‚What do you see and hear?‘-series has a continuous plot which is much more appealing to children and also helps them to repeat the most important vocabulary. Because they are curious to find out what happens next, children will suddenly actually want to learn vocabulary! Hand-drawn illustrations and easily understandable contents are designed for effective learning. By linking the illustrations to the words, children will learn vocabulary effortlessly.

This series of children’s dictionaries for children from kindergarten age is a convincing concept for child-oriented learning. Bildquelle:kein externes Copyright
